Four releases make up a period I currently consider a more early, developmental, or foundational one in my work. This followed the completion of my graduate studies at Cleveland Institute of Music where I was largely focused on classical guitar performance. Upon graduation, I felt compelled to author my on work again and form a suitable home studio, but I was unsure what I would be creating. I experimented with various approaches until stumbling upon sampling.

My first two eps were made almost entirely by sampling fragments of pre-existing material and manipulating it, using the simple tools found in most DAWs. These recordings are dotted with bits of guitar, voice, field recordings, and classic drum machine samples as well.

By 2015, I had grown intrigued by synthesizers and embarked to complete an album that year. Without any electronic music instruments besides a midi keyboard and a midi controller that I acquired late in the project, I made my first album using the virtual instruments bundled in Logic Pro.

Machine Memory was recorded quickly mostly after my move to New York City in 2017. I consider it a mixtape, because it is a collection of tracks that were largely short experiments and barely mixed.
