Matthew Ryals is a New York City-based composer and improviser. He uses the modular synthesizer as his primary instrument, working with abstract sound and voltage as material. He offers personalized instruction in modular synthesis, music production, guitar, and related topics through lessons, workshops, and in-depth courses, both online and in-person. In addition to his creative practice and teaching, he co-curates Artifact, an experimental music series spotlighting diverse and innovative artists.
